WHAT IS A GELATIN CAPSULE?

Hard gelatin capsules are made out of two cylindrical shells that each closed off at one end. In order for the two parts to fit perfectly the upper part of the capsule, called the cap, has a slightly larger diameter than the lower part, called the body. After filling a hard gelatin capsule the parts close off hermetically. Hard gelatin capsules are also known as two-piece capsules or hard-shell gelatin capsules.
